El Colegio

 

This project was created in collaboration with Julia Serrano, Ma Jesus Iruleguy and Carla Silva for the SLL (Spanish Language Learning) class. The students worked in groups doing research about the history of the school, its different locations, schedule, celebrations, services and facilities, among other. They also interviewed some staff members. Each group prepared a project on a different area to present to the class.

 

 

Celebra la vida

This project was created in collaboration with Julia Serrano, Ma Jesus Iruleguy  and Carla Silva for the SLL (Spanish Language Learning) class. The students worked together researching different world wide celebrations to then prepare individual presentations.

                                               BIOMAS

En lo particular utilizao Smart Amp como parte deL Modelo de Clase al Revés o Flipped Classroom.
En 5º grado lo utilzamos varias veces a la semana en todas las áreas.

Los pasos a seguir fueron:
1- Se les envió un video a la casa relacionado al tema para ver como deberes que duraba 8 minutos.
2- En clase se asignaron los grupos para trabajar en cada estación o workspace. Se les dio tres consignas antes de comenzar para orientarlos. ( deberían escribir en forma esquemática el lugar donde se encuentra el bioma, características, flora y fauna)
3- Todos trabajaron con sus libros de textos y si la información pedida no aparecía en los mismos debían tener una ventana abierta para investigar sobre la consigna dada.
4- También se les permitía chatear.
5- Se les sugirió subir imágenes y adjuntar videos.
6- Luego se compartió la información entre todos y una vez compartida se hizo un breve cuestionario sobre los distintos tipos de biomas.
7- Cada grupo hizo una presentación sobre el mismo.
Se esta forma se estimula el aprendizaje colaborativo y los estudiantes aprenden a indagar y buscar información qu puedan explicar con sus palabras. Es una forma de promover el aprender a aprender y desarrollar actividades. Loa alumnos se involucran y da muy buenos resultados.

I choose the Genres Unit and Grades 5 to start with smart amp worskpace

I modified a worskpace so each one of the stations was a Fiction subgenre. 

The students had to work in pairs.

My original idea was to make  a flipped video lesson but I didn't have time so I embedded in the worskpace and we watched it on the class.

The instructions for the students were:

1- Watch the video on literary genres

2 - Each group has to find information about a genre from the Internet and has to find

      - Definition and characteristics for the genre assigned.

     - Give an example from our Library (write title and Call Number)
